The "Alte Aula" was built from the torn down materials of the castle demolished in 1948, which was founded in the 15th/16th century as the manor house of the von der Liepe dynasty. The former gateway to the manor house has been preserved. Since 1950, the building was first home to a school and then a kindergarden from 1986 to 1994. Today’s "Alte Aula" got its name in 1997 and is a local culture centre and the home of Kulturverein Blankenfelde e. V. with a ballroom, the galleries, the Kulturverein Blankenfelde e. V. art collection, the Blankenfelde local history archives and, since 2010, "Museum Blankenfelde". In addition to weddings in the local authority’s wedding room, various cultural events also take place there every year.
