The aquatic playground is located on the Mühleninsel island in the heart of Königs Wusterhausen. The island lies between the Nottekanal and the Mühlenfließ. The playground is reached from Schlossstrasse. Access is right next to the lock. The sight of the playground will quicken the pulses of adults as well as children. Freely growing robinia tree trunks have been used to make a water mill and a large shipwreck on a reef. Water flows from a spring and can be stopped by operating various barriers and weirs and then forwarded into various water trenches. A wavy bridge, a jungle bridge, a rope bridge and various paths made from boulders cross the waters. A water hoist system with mud table is always popular with children. Three spring-rocking animals, a nest swing and a sandpit are ideal for the tiniest visitors to the Island. There is no limit to the imagination of children here. Even when the water is turned off in the winter months, lots of role plays and group games are possible. This playground has now become a “place of pilgrimage” for nurseries and schools. The playground is open daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. (or dusk during the six-month winter period). The playground is locked outside these times.
