This lido is a real pleasure: an official town bathing area with lifeguard at the weekends.
The sound of birds twittering in age-old trees – pure nature. There’s an old pine tree under preservation order and the ground is covered with beechnuts – the year is 2016. Signs on the lido: camping, fires and dogs are not permitted here. As far as camping is concerned, the message seems to have got through: there isn’t a tent in sight. But there some old fire pits and dog mess that the owners forgot to pick up. Rubbish pins are provided – and a porta-potty too, just in case. A life belt is ready and waiting as well. Despite its name, the beach is not really white – but it’s very clean. The green of the meadow is gradually invading the sand. Gentle waves spill onto the shore. In addition to clear water, you also have a view of Turm-Erlebniscity bathing centre in Oranienburg from here. Yachts sail proudly past. All you have to do is bring your own coffee.
