The mantra of the Elster Natoureum is to observe and experience nature, and learn from it. Nature-lovers can experience the Elbe-Elster-Land up close in a miniature world. A host of exhibits, replicas, models and video films provide information about the diverse fauna and flora of the surrounding area. The entire region and its sights are depicted on a large plastic model. The topographical landscape and the transport links between all towns and villages are also detailed.
A miniature railway realistically moves through the region on the model. The Annual Garden Railway Gathering is held here in the spring. Model railway enthusiasts can run their own models on the 320-metre long tracks.
Outdoors, the Elbe-Elster-Land is displayed in miniature form over 1,000 square metres. The area between Bad Liebenwerda, Finsterwalde, Herzberg and Mühlberg can be crossed on foot in a matter of minutes.
