“Philadelphia” and “New Boston”
Frederick II also promoted economic development in the town of Storkow by bringing in bleachers, dyers and weavers to settle in the town and issuing a decree to allow the cultivation of potatoes on fields in 24 district villages. The colonist villages of "Philadelphia" and "New Boston", amongst others, were set up when the state had allocated land to people wishing to emigrate to America and thereby persuaded them to stay.

Storkow Castle
Storkow Castle, a temporary seat of the royal office has been restored and shines in a new splendour in the heart of the town - more than 800 years after its first mention in 1209. The former independent town, on the other hand, has significantly changed.

Storkow Canal
The 9-kilometre long Storkow Canal, which was built under Frederick's reign in 1745/446, created a water link to Berlin via the Dahme River, enabling the flotation of logs and the transportation of goods. The reconstructed bascule bridge over the Storkow Canal is a sight worth visiting.
