A Germanic village has been built as an open-air museum partly on original outlines in a charming landscape near Lake Klein Köriser See. Visitors can see reconstructed buildings such as a house and weaving hut. The various stations are intended to given an idea of what life and work were like in those days, including lime burning, extracting iron or storing the harvest.
The aim of the museum is to convey a picture of the life of the Germanic farmers, livestock owners and craftspeople during the Holy Roman Empire. Guided tours and display panels provide further information. The highlights of the season are the Museum Festival in June and German Open Monuments Day.
