Since autumn 2002, a half-timbered barn with a fieldstone base has been under construction on the foundations of the former residential building. The wood of oak, robinia, ash and various fruit trees is stored here. It is used to create sculptures and furniture objects for the home and garden. The inner courtyard features themes such as water garden, kitchen garden, shade garden, Zen garden and fire garden. In the rear part of the approximately 2,000-square-metre grounds, an axial network of paths leads through the gardens with medicinal herbs, roses and vegetables down to the forest garden with a water lily pond. From here you can look out over the village pond to Ihlow manor house. At the intersection of the paths, there are small aquatic features – a perfect place to look and listen.
