The local history parlour is located in the building of ‘Waldsieversdorfer Kultur-, Ausstellungs- und Tourismus-Zentrums (WaldKAuTZ)’, the local culture, exhibition and tourism centre. Visitors can see a historic classroom and exhibits relating to 100 years of school and village history.
There is also an exhibition about the artist John Heartfield. Born as Helmut Herzfeld in Berlin in 1891, Heartfield is considered the inventor of the political photomontage. Following an intense period of working abroad – working as a graphic designer, stage designer and publisher among other activities – he returned to Germany in 1950. In 1957 he moved into a summer house in Waldsieversdorf.
