Lake Storkower See is located in the hilly landscape of Saarower Hügelland. The oblong-shaped lake basin was formed by the melt water of the last Ice Age. At its southern tip, the lake is connected to Lake Scharmützelsee. This canal was created in the mid-18th century.
The bathing area in Dahmsdorf is right next to a well developed cycle path along the eastern shore of Lake Storkower See, between Storkow and Wendisch Rietz. The bathing area is surrounded by woodlands. Surrounded by a narrow reed belt, there is a wide sandy area that allows for direct access to the lake’s shallow water. There are a few seats, a sunbathing lawn and a table tennis table. Parking is available in a field next to the bathing area.
The water in the bathing area is regularly monitored by the district health authority in accordance with the Brandenburg Bathing Water Ordinance and is of excellent quality.
