Churches

The small village church in Wustermark was built in 1703 on top of older foundations; the square tower with the Baroque onion cupola was added in 1793. The church’s bright plaster and its location in the middle of an old cemetery invites visitors to take a break. The church was fully renovated from 2000 to 2004. The interior ceiling is a wooden barrel vault dating from 1885. A simple horseshoe gallery extends around three sides of the church interior. The pulpit dating from the end of the 18th century is framed by slender Corinthian columns, acanthus decoration and angels’ heads.
On the south wall of the church there is a painted epitaph for Pastor Nicolas Grief (1681-1706) and on the outer south wall there is a gravestone dating from the 18th century. The church bells date from 1668 and 1678.
