St. Peter und Paul church Nauen

Church buildings are often dedicated to St. Peter and St. Paul under the auspices of a patron by whose authority they are established. This dates back to the apostles Peter and Paul. The Catholic Church of St Peter and St Paul in Nauen is also dedicated to these patron saints. The corresponding feast day is celebrated on June 29. In the Roman Catholic church, this Saint’s day is of particular importance in the liturgical order (high feast).

The Church of St Peter and St Paul in Nauen was built in 1905/06 in the style of a Neo-Romanesque cruciform brick basilica according to plans by architect Josef Welz from Berlin. An impressive, octagonal tower rises above the building and the basilica has a cruciform floor plan. In the south apse, there are draped figures of Mary and John from a Crucifixion group from South Tirol dating from 1740. A brick wall connects the church to the vicarage next door.
