The pianist, composer and music teacher Xaver Scharwenka (1850 - 1924) had the now listed house built in 1910/11 from pinewood imported from America and called it his “hut of the muses”. Today, the Scharwenka Kulturforum houses Brandenburg's first musician's museum with the Scharwenka archive, which also includes the life's work of his brother Philipp Scharwenka (1847 - 1917). Local history exhibitions, an art cabinet, concerts and numerous events round off the offer. The small gallery shows paintings by regional artists.
