Castles

Burgberg in Lebus is an important historic mountain where you can see the cobbled foundations of the former cathedral.
There is evidence of a settlement having existed here in the Bronze Age. In the course of its eventful history from 1124 to 1373, the castle was the bishop's seat. Today there is a replica of the former castle made of steel elements in a 70-centimetre-high relief with markings in the cobblestones. Explanations are provided on information panels. From the viewing platform, visitors have a sweeping view over the River Oder to Poland. A 22-metre-long bridge leads to the outer castle area and keep and there are two flanking towers.

The Burgberg is accessible at all times.
