The rich landscape of the nature park could not exist without the hard work of the shepherds and their herds. To allow for environment-friendly maintenance, the grassland that consists of small, scattered parcels is grazed by sheep or herds of goats and horses.

The robust cattle live outdoors all year round, and they can even handle high water levels on their grazing grounds. In winter, the animals graze near their owner’s residence.
