The post mill of Wilhelmsaue has been in existence in its wooden foundation since 1880. The mill ground flour until 1956 and grist until 1964. After that, the mill stood empty and began to fall into disrepair until restoration works started in 1983.
The post mill of Wilhelmsaue is the last of its kind to survive in the Oderbruch region and it is a protected technical monument.
The post mill can be viewed from 1 April to 31 October from Tuesday to Thursday by appointment (over the telephone) and from Friday to Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. from 1 November to 31 March (advance booking only).
