In 1911, the municipal representatives decided to connect the long village of Woltersdorf to the tram network and thus create a connection to Berlin's suburban trains. Because Woltersdorf had increasingly become a popular destination for a day out for the people of Berlin. By 1913 the first trams trundled along this 5.6-kilometre route.
The ride is great fun to this day, because it takes your through the town and a large forest. And what's more, they are genuine vintage trams from the years 1959 to 1961. The tram depot still houses historical vehicles from the years 1910 to 1944, which are brought out on special occasions.
Guided tours of the depot for groups of up to 15 people can be arranged by making an advance booking over the telephone.
