The museum oder-spree is located in the historic Beeskow Castle, which offers a unique view over the Spree lowlands with its medieval charm and imposing keep. The museum has been dedicated to regional history for over 65 years, linking the past with the present in order to open up perspectives for the future.
The museum invites visitors to actively engage with the development of the region and to question their own views and decisions. It shows the present as the result of historical developments and sensitizes visitors to perceive their everyday surroundings as an expression of their own culture. The focus is on multi-perspectivity and dialog in order to create a polyphonic self-description of the region together with the local people.
In addition to changing exhibitions that combine history and current topics, the museum offers a workshop for creative projects and food for thought. The offer is complemented by the Beeskow Music Museum, which is also located on the castle grounds. The castle itself is a place that brings the past to life and offers space for reflection, education and inspiration.
