The historic granary with the palace and the Schinkel church form the cultural landmark of the village of Straupitz. Built around 1798, the granary was used to store the grain that was ground at the Dutch windmill in Straupitz. The triple windmill has since shifted its main function to the production of linseed oil. This means there is now a plenty of space in the granary, which was refurbished at the end of 2004 and converted into a museum.
