The Ratzdorf church is one of the few places of worship built during the GDR era. A tower was built on the former parish barn and the interior was decorated accordingly. It has been lovingly restored in recent years and is now one of the region's gems. Guests are welcome to take a break from everyday life in the exhibition and cyclists' church.
Ratzdorf is located directly on the Oder-Neisse estuary and is a popular excursion destination at any time of year. Thanks to its location, the small village can look back on a very special history. On a walk through the former shipping village, you can see and feel the maritime flair. The church also has a very unusual history. In 1958, a small, modest church was built from an old parish barn. With the construction of the border on the Oder and Neisse rivers, the people of Ratzdorf were cut off from their old church in Kuschern, which they had previously reached by ferry.
