The Oderbruchbahn Cycle Path runs along some of the old, abandoned railway tracks from Fürstenwalde and Müncheberg to Wriezen through the striking natural landscape of the Oderbruch (former marshland). The cycle path conveys a unique charm with its rural character, passing through fields, meadows and villages typical of the Oderbruch area where many artists and craftspeople have settled. A visit to Steinhöfel Castle, Kunstspeicher Friedersdorf art gallery or the memorial at the Seelow Heights along the route is highly recommended. But also the “Children of Golzow” exhibition, the shoe museum in Groß Neuendorf, the old malt factory in Wriezen and the stork museum in Altgaul are interesting sights.
By the way: because earlier the passengers threw their apple scraps out of the window during the journey, there are so many apple trees along the way.

How to get there:
- By train to Müncheberg: Take the S7 (Ahrensfelde) line on the S-Bahn (rapid transit train) from Berlin central station to Berlin Lichenberg. From here, take the RB26 (Kostrzyn) regional train to Müncheberg (about 1 hour). However, to start from Buckow, you need to cycle a further distance of around 9 kilometres.
- By train to Fürstenwalde: Take the RE1 regional express train to Frankfurt (Oder) from Berlin central station only as far as Fürstenwalde
- Train: Leave the tour at Neumädewitz in order to take the RB60 regional train to Eberswalde from Wriezen, which is 3 kilometres away. From here, take the RE3 regional express train to Berlin central station (about 1.5 hours). To reach the end of the tour, the Oder Bridge at Bienenwerder, you will need to allow for a detour of about 20 kilometres (from Neumädewitz to the Oder Bridge and back to Wriezen).
